RECA in the New Brazilian California (GIZ)

The RECA project – Consortium and Densified Economic Reforestation – is an agroforestry production cooperative formed by more than 300 farming families in Nova Califórnia (RO). The initiative works with more than 40 species, including fruit, wood and medicinal trees and plants, producing pulp, butter, oils and other organic products sold in Brazil.

The contact with Forest happened after the invitation for RECA to participate in the BioFach fair, held in Nuremberg, Germany, and focused on organic products. The idea was to produce a video to be shown during the event, positioning RECA as a reference for sustainable production in the Brazilian Amazon.

The main message of the piece was aimed at the consumer, a partner who supports the social and environmental work that keeps the forest standing. Each cooperative product has its own added value, as it preserves the forest and respects farmers and their families. The taste of the food is linked to technical knowledge, which also allows tracing the origin of the production chain. So it’s worth paying a little extra to secure RECA’s essential work.

The video “RECA in the New Brazilian California” was subtitled in English and German for exhibition at the fair.
